Dr Gulam Ahmed Health Trust

Dr.Gulam Ahmed (1910 - 1987) was born in Hyderabad Deccan. He graduated in Medicine from Osmania University in 1934 and went to England in 1936 for further studies.
There he obtained M.R.C.S (Eng) L.R.C.P. (Edinburgh),D.P.H. (Ireland), and returned to Hyderabad in 1942 and resumed the government service.
He served in various capacities from Civil Surgeon to the Regional Health Officer and retired in 1967 as Director of Public Health of Andhra Pradesh. Dr Gulam Ahmed was a very sympathetic, humble and philanthropic person by nature.
He always came forward to help the needy people any time of the day, be it night or day. He propagated these teachings in his circle of relations, friends and children.
As Director of Public Health, he created jobs in his department for needy thus creating livelihoods for many of the poor families.
He always emphasised the importance of hard work and education, besides medical help for the underprivileged This trust was formed on his principles and philosophy.
